SARATOGA, Calif. -- A vegetation fire that began Monday afternoon along hills on the western edge of Saratoga has burned 10 acres and is 75 percent contained, Santa Clara County Fire Department officials said tonight.

The blaze was initially reported at 3:19 p.m. on Mt. Eden Road, west of Piece Road.

Earlier this evening, fire officials said that the fire was not threatening any structures and no injuries had been reported.

While residents in the area have not been told to evacuate their homes, a shelter-in-place advisory was issued at about 5:05 p.m. for residents on Mt. Eden Road.

The order was issued so that firefighters could transport heavy equipment to the area, according to fire officials.

Crews are expected to remain on scene throughout the night.

Some residents near Orchard Meadow Drive were experiencing power outages, fire officials said.

Additionally, an incident involving a drone that caused a fire helicopter to ground is under investigation, according to fire officials.
