SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A San Francisco police officer was reportedly fired after sending anti-Muslim text messages to colleagues.

According to the San Francisco Examiner, the police commission fired the officer last month, at the recommendation of new chief William Scott.

The officer reportedly sent the messages on a private phone between 2014 and 2015. They were discovered during last year's investigation into another racist text message scandal, involving officers in the Sunset District.
