Police say the suspect armed with a gun entered a store on the 100 block of Bosworth Street Friday afternoon. The person who discovered the suspect was able to exit the home, police said.

SFPD says for about three and a half hours, the suspect refused to comply with officers and as officers attempted to negotiate with the suspect, a shooting occurred.
The suspect was taken to the hospital where he died.
"We were trying to negotiate during this incident. We were trying to negotiate a peaceful resolution. The amount of information at this time is preliminary," officer Rueca with SFPD said.
Our media partners at the San Francisco Standard say employees reported the man lived above the store.

Police told the Standard, the man was carrying alcohol and snorted cocaine before reaching for his gun. That's when officers opened fire.
Glen Park resident Michela MacFarland says she heard almost the entire confrontation between the man and police, including the moment gunfire erupted.
"Very fast. Rapid succession, and that was it. I mean it was a sinking feeling in my body knowing what is going down," MacFarland said.
She says she has lived in this neighborhood for several years, but lately she has been growing concerned.
"It has been insane how much has been going on. My parents had their catalytic converter stolen twice in just a matter of months. People are always coming down the street breaking into cars, having cars stolen," she said.

SFPD is not releasing the name of the suspect. This is the department's first shooting by an officer this year.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available. San Francisco police say a town hall meeting regarding the shooting will be held within 10 days.
