VIDEO: 'Snow moon' lights up Bay Area sky

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Did you get the chance to look up? The largest supermoon of the year lit up the sky in the Bay Area.

SKY7 and our camera captured the celestial event on Tuesday morning.

Supermoons happen when the moon is at its closest point to Earth, along its slightly elliptical orbit.

February's supermoon is also known as the "snow moon."

You still have a chance to see it again Tuesday night through early Wednesday morning.
