Stanford women's basketball coach clinches 1,000 wins

STANFORD, Calif. (KGO) -- Stanford women's basketball coach Tara VanDerveer had a big moment Friday evening as she clinched her 1,000th win, representing four decades of success.

VanDerveer coached her 1,228th college game as the Cardinals took on the Trojans at home. A passionate showing by her squad resulted in her 1,000th win as a coach.

The Cardinals edged out the Trojans 58-42.
