SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A federal judge in San Francisco says there's no smoking gun proof that uber used files stolen from Google's self-driving car project Waymo.
The judge told lawyers he's torn. He said it seems overwhelmingly clear that a former Waymo executive who now works for uber stole 14,000 confidential files before he quit Waymo.

Waymo claims Uber later hired the executive to get the stolen trade secrets.

Waymo wants the judge to freeze Uber's efforts to develop a self-driving car, until a jury issues a verdict in the case.
The judge didn't issue a ruling today.
