WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- BART's Walnut Creek station reopened late Monday morning, more than two hours after a suspicious package was found in the station's parking garage.

As of 10:30 a.m., trains were once again stopping at the station and the parking structure is accessible, BART said in a news release.

The Walnut Creek police bomb squad inspected and removed the suspicious item, BART spokesperson Anna Duckworth said. No other information about the investigation was released.

The station was closed about 8:10 a.m., "out of an abundance of caution" after the package was found, BART officials said.
