CHP investigating freeway shooting that temporarily closed Westbound I-580 in Livermore on Sunday

LIVERMORE, Calif. (KGO) -- The California Highway Patrol confirmed that it was a freeway shooting that caused Westbound I-580 in Livermore to temporarily shut down on Sunday.

All lanes on Westbound 580 north of Livermore Ave. were closed around 12:15p.m. due to police activity. Lanes reopened just before 1p.m.



Now authorities say a shooting is the reason behind the freeway closure.

No word if a person was shot and how many vehicles were involved.

Authorities are investigating.
