Walnut Creek Apple store robbed, police believe arrests will be made
A brand new Apple store in Walnut Creek was hit by thieves in a crime that's become a disturbing trend.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KGO) -- Walnut Creek Police believe arrests are imminent in the case of the robbery at the Apple store in Broadway Plaza Saturday afternoon.

They released surveillance video of Saturday's attack. You can see the robbery from two different angles.

It happens so fast: in 20 seconds, you see four people rush in and grab $30,000 worth of merchandise and then run out. Some of the customers are oblivious that a robbery is even happening. No one is hurt or threatened and no weapons involved.

ABC7 News obtained video showing a daring Apple Store robbery in Corte Madera where the suspects got away with about $19,000 worth of electronics.

Police also have video of the getaway car. They have some leads in the case and do think these people have done this before in other Bay Area stores.

"Thanks to a very aware citizen who pulled out her camera and started taking footage and we were able to get a license plate and our investigators are following up with that right now. We have several good leads we are following up on. We are working with Oakland, Emeryville and Berkeley police as well as several other police departments in the whole Bay Area here," said Walnut Creek Police Lt. Tom Cashion.

Crystal clear surveillance video shows how a group of young men made off with a small fortune worth of Apple products.

An Apple spokesperson said they have no comment.

Police say the getaway car was a black Mercedes SUV with the license plate 5XRS835.

As for Apple customers, police say steer clear of the thieves if this happens in a store where you are. They say be a good witness and, if you can, please roll video on your cell phone.
