PLEASANTON

The man and woman approached the woman Friday and offered to sell her diamonds valued at $20,000, police reported. The woman offered $1,000 for one of the diamonds and took the suspects to her sister, a Livermore resident, who paid another $6,000 for the second diamond.

Following the transaction and after the suspects left, the sisters learned the "diamonds" were of little or no value, according to police.
