A witness using a new hotline, posted throughout the zoo, called police to report two men throwing things at a rhinoceros.
The suspects were cited and released.
That hotline was set up following the Christmas day tiger mauling at the zoo, that also included charges of animal taunting.
One young man was killed by a tiger and another two were mauled.
