Kristy Gough and Matt Peterson died last Sunday when a Santa Clara County sheriff's deputy accidentally struck them with his squad car on Steven's Canyon Road.
Peterson was coming off a victory from his last race and Gough was considered an Olympic hopeful who was preparing for the Olympic trials.
The deputy, 27-year-old James Council, is being investigated by the CHP and could face criminal charges.
