2.2 quake rattles Milpitas

The U.S. Geological Survey reported an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.2 struck at about 9 a.m. this morning near Milpitas.

According to the USGS, the quake had a depth of 3.9 miles and was centered about 7 miles east-northeast of Milpitas and 10 miles northeast of San Jose City Hall.

There were no reports of injuries or damage due to the temblor, according to the San Jose Police Department.
