Victim identified in San Ramon homicide

SAN RAMON, CA

The coroner's office has identified the man as 43-year-old San Ramon resident Kashamir Billon. An autopsy is scheduled to find the exact cause of death. He was found dead outside a parked BMW on Bishop Drive.

Just after 11:00 pm Sunday night, firefighters responded to a call about the fire and found the body and then called police. Contra Costa County crime labs were out for several hours Monday collecting evidence. Investigators aren't saying anything about how the victim died and they don't feel the public will be threatened by the killer.

"Certainly this is an isolated incident, we are still trying to piece together exactly what happened and trying to identify a suspect, So at this point, we are just going to treat this as an isolated incident," said Lt. Dan Pratt, San Ramon police department.

Investigators have been giving the media limited information on the homicide - saying they don't want to compromise the investigation. Murder is a rare occurrence in San Ramon, the last murder in the city was Christmas Eve 2006.
