How to create the ultimate summer soiree, safari dinner:
Put your dining room table outside in your backyard.
Put two market umbrellas at either end.
Take mosquito netting or a sheer fabric and cover the entire table.
Place a lot of candles on the table. Put some in floating water. You could also have lanterns hanging on the umbrellas.
At dinner, serve a grilled feast and sip wine as you enjoy spending time with your friends and family.
Chris Silva's wine tips:
Wine does not have to be intimidating to drink.
Use a simple glass that you are comfortable with.
Rinse the glasses out with fresh water before the party to remove any detergent or soap. It would alter the flavors in the wine.
You should be prepared for half a bottle of wine per person for a party
Generally, you shouldn't have more than eight different wines at each party.
Keep your white wines around the mid-40 degree range (a couple degrees less for sparkling and a couple degrees warmer for a rich Chardonnay. Keep reds in the low-60s. Heat is not a friend of red wine.
Pair your wines with your food.
Do online research about the types of wine you're serving like the vineyard, the history, the body type, etc.
