Feds issue warning about aged tires

Federal regulators issued an advisory warning that the risk of serious crash during hot weather can be heightened when tires are too old, under inflated and worn out.

Critics have long accused the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of dragging its feet on this issue.

Some vehicle manufacturers recommend replacing any tire older than 6 years, regardless of physical condition, but we found tires for sale manufactured as long as 10 years ago.
