Two-alarm grass fire in Concord

CONCORD, CA

The two-alarm blaze was reported around 2 a.m. and burned between 10 and 15 acres of land behind 4597 Lincoln Drive, a fire dispatcher said. Extra fire engines were sent to the area to protect nearby homes that remained untouched by flames, she said.

Firefighters controlled the blaze around 4:10 a.m., and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The land that burned is part of the U.S. Naval Weapons Station in Concord, according to the fire district.
