San Rafael police held two driving under the influence checkpoints on Friday night but most of the 47 arrests were because the drivers did not have licenses.

Police arrested 44 drivers for not having a license and impounded their vehicles, according to the Police Department.

Four drivers were arrested for driving under the influence and booked in Marin County Jail, police said.

Three were reportedly arrested for driving on a suspended license. One was cited for marijuana possession and another was booked in jail for an outstanding arrest warrant, police said.
