Gas prices spark worldwide protests

Truck drivers shut down parts of central London in outrage over the rising cost of fuel.

Their demonstration followed "Operation Escargot" in France, where truck drivers drove at a snail's pace and caused major traffic jams.

"You can't make a living," one British truck driver said. "All of what we're making, between running costs and everything else, is just going back in the tank."

In India, millions of drivers went on strike Wednesday in a move that could paralyze much of the economy there because 70 percent of goods in India are transported by truck.
