The blaze was reported just after 4:30 p.m. in the area of Cindy Way and Cullen Drive, fire officials said.
The fire reportedly burned up the hill from Pacifica into the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Firefighters had the flames controlled about half an hour later and the fire extinguished by about 7 p.m., according to fire officials.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened by the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
