Best diet depends on desired reults

A new study has found the best diet plan may depend on which part of your health you want to improve.

Researchers from Israel and the Harvard School of Public Health compared low-fat, low-carbohydrate and Mediterranean style diets.

They found that low-carb dieters lost the most weight and had the greatest improvement in cholesterol. Those on a Mediterranean diet had the most improvement in blood sugar levels, suggesting it may be best for people with diabetes.

All three diets improved patients' overall health.
