A study by scientists at Purdue University shows global warming could cause spring snow melt to begin two months earlier in the western United States and it could happen by the end of the century.
Early snow melt could aid in the increase in forest fires and threaten the state's water supply which largely comes from the Sierra snowpack.The study will be published in the Journal of Geophysical Research Letters.
