Supes approve employee transit plan

San Francisco supervisors unanimously approved a plan they say will help get commuters out of their cars and into public transit.

If it's signed by mayor Newsom, the first in the nation law would require businesses with more than 20 employees to offer one of the following options to workers:

--Free transit passes or vanpool reimbursement
--Door-to-door shuttle service on vans or busses
--The ability to set up pre-tax commuter accounts to help pay for train, bus ferry or vanpool service
