The Texas-based supermarket chain announced on Saturday that it was recalling ground beef from 23 states and Washington D.C., because of the E. coli outbreak, but California is not one of them. It took the action after nine people became ill in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
However, several other stores around the Bay Area that are included in the beef recall.
