As fireworks and confetti exploded into the air, Bay Area Democrats said it was more than they had hoped for.
"Being there, I just lost it. It was just so much and just beyond my wildest dreams," said Jeff Niberg from Pleasanton.
"It was exactly what we needed to hear. It was the soaring rhetoric we've come to expect from Barack Obama with the hard core policy points we needed to hear," said Julie C. Lythcott-Haims from Palo Alto.
"But there's still a long way to go. It's not going to be easy and he fired us up and we're ready to go," said Fred Feller, from Berkeley.
Fired up and ready to go, that was the goal of the convention. The Democrats want to get onto the final stretch of what's been a very long campaign season and Thursday night, Barack Obama was at the top of his game.
