Young driver killed in fatal crash

FAIRFIELD, CA

The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Georgia Street.

Police said the vehicle was heading west when the driver lost control and went into the center median, which is made up of shrubbery and trees.

The vehicle crashed into one of the trees and overturned, according to police.

The 18-year-old driver, a Vallejo resident, was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A 14-year-old boy, also of Vallejo, was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek to be treated for a broken hip and lacerations to his head.

The third passenger, a 15-year-old Vallejo boy sustained a minor laceration to his hand and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Officer Justin Farrington at (707) 648-4329.
