Oakland police seek hit-and-run driver

OAKLAND, CA

The suspect drove an older, green Honda sedan onto the sidewalk in the area of 32nd and Filbert streets around 6:45 a.m., striking two men, Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said.

Both of the victims were taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries. One man suffered a broken leg and the other sustained a bump to his head, Thomason said.

Police are trying to locate the vehicle and have not released a description of the driver.

Thomason said the collision is being treated as an assault with a deadly weapon.
