The former Massachusetts governor was widely believed to have been on McCain's short list for a running mate. He says he assumes the eventual pick, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, was well-vetted, despite this week's revelations concerning her daughter and an Alaska ethics probe. Romney says he thinks Palin will "strengthen the McCain ticket dramatically."
Romney is to address the convention tomorrow night.
