Sample sales: Fashion you can afford

About Thread Lounge
Thread Lounge Designer Sample Sales are the next step of the former PJ's 2 Go line designed by Colleen Schmidt. PJ's 2 Go was a high end pajama and lounge wear line which was designed and manufactured by Colleen for over seventeen years. The line was carried by high end boutiques as well as known upscale stores such as Bergdorff Goodman, Fred Segal, Takashayama, Neiman Marcus and Barneys NY. The line was on Oprah's Top ten favorites for years!

Over the past few years Colleen's inspiration and desire to serve her clients changed and she became ready for a new challenge. With a market becoming saturated with high-end lounge and sleepwear, it was time for a different emphasis. "If you want to stay in business and be successful, you have to stay on top of your game and change with the times." And with that, Thread Lounge came into being.

Men and women still want designer pieces, but don't want to pay exorbitant prices. Through Colleen's seventeen years in the fashion industry, she learned a lot and made many contacts with fellow designers. Colleen created a sample sale that travels the country and sells merchandise at a quarter of the retail price. The results were twofold: she was able to both serve her customers desire to have high-end clothing for a fraction of the cost, as well as support small independent designers with selling their samples and excess stock.

Working with her industry knowledge, Colleen started Thread Lounge. First she began by working with people she knew, but over the past two years, Thread Lounge has become an entity of its own and the design pool has grown significantly. With 300 lines in the 'shops,' there is something for everyone. Many of the lines are those you can't find in department stores, but instead in trendy and high-end boutiques, and many of these up and coming lines are featured in fashion magazines such as InStyle.

Thread Lounge has been changing along with its customer base, both as a natural progression as well as seeing the needs of our customers across the country. We now have a permanent location in San Francisco with a staff that is familiar and well trained with all the merchandise. The staff both in the home store as well as those that travel are comfortable and able to pull pieces from the rack if anyone needs help when coming in or feel overwhelmed. And with all new merchandise going to San Francisco first, the lines being sent to the 'pop-up' stores across the country can be hand picked to ensure filling the fashion needs of each community.

Thread Lounge has a vision to keep all of our clients well dressed, in line with current fashion, all at an amazing price. We just love to see people feeling and looking good (and know they got a great deal!) when they walk out the door.
