The shooting took place on a typically quiet residential neighborhood in the Richmond District - just north of Golden Gate Park, on Cabrillo Street and 15th Avenue. It's still unclear whether this killing sparked out of a road rage incident.

We know the man shot and killed was riding a bicycle in the Richmond District neighborhood. Police received reports of shots fired at 1:40 Wednesday morning. Officers found the victim on Cabrillo Street, near 14th Avenue.
He was shot after an altercation with someone. There were some witnesses driving by who saw what happened, and police inspectors have been questioning them for more details. They're hoping this may be the break needed to find the shooter, and whether this stemmed out of an argument between the cyclist and a motorist.
One resident said she heard voices and some kids yelling and then what she thought were firecrackers - which turned out to be the shots. A description of the shooter and the car has not been released yet.
