Man confesses to killing sister
HAYWARD, CA Sylvia Jacqueline Ramos, 36, was found dead in the home where she
lives with her husband, children and extended family, Lt. Bernie Licata said.
When family members arrived at the home in the 25000 block of
Donald Avenue on Friday, they found Ramos in the backyard and called 911
around 3:10 p.m. She had been shot in the head, Licata said.
Ramos' brother, Jose De Jesus Delgado, was arrested at about 6:45
a.m. Saturday at the Hayward Police Department. He voluntarily went to the
Police Department to give a statement and during his interview confessed to
committing the crime, Licata said.
Physical evidence and witness statements corroborated his
confession, Licata said. Police are not releasing a motive.
It was the city's sixth homicide.
