Officer's donated organs save life

RICHMOND, CA

Officer Brad Moody was on life support after being critically injured when his patrol car hit a light pole over the weekend.

A Richmond police spokesman says before Moody was taken off life support Tuesday morning his organs were donated to a patient in a San Francisco hospital who had less than a day to live.

The 29-year-old Moody had been on life support at a regional trauma center after being declared brain-dead by doctors following the accident.

A memorial fund has been established at Mechanics Bank Hilltop Branch. reference "Brad Moody Family Fund" or drop off donations to the Richmond Police Department at 1701 Regatta Blvd Richmond CA 94804.
