Officers issued 27 citations related to the safe operation of bicycles during the operation, which took place in high bicycle traffic areas between 3 and 6 p.m. Thursday.
Another 13 bicyclists received warnings, according to police.
Many of the violations were for riders under 18 years old who were not wearing helmets.
Additional enforcement operations are planned to inform bicyclists, pedestrians and motorists of safety issues and traffic laws, police said.
