A 25-year-old Vacaville man has been identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as the victim of a fatal multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on eastbound Interstate Highway 580 just west of Dublin.

Mark Bender was killed in the crash, which involved at least five vehicles that collided at about 12:25 a.m. just west of Schaefer Ranch Road on Highway 580 west of Dublin, according to the CHP. All eastbound lanes of Highway 580 were blocked for about three hours, and authorities had to divert traffic to Dublin Canyon Road and back onto Highway 580 from Foothill Road, CHP Officer Pacheco said. A Sig-alert was issued at about 12:35 a.m., according to Pacheco, and was canceled at about 3:35 a.m. when the lanes were reopened, according to CHP Officer Robert Haven.
