The father of 17-year-old Michael Halpin says his son and a friend were walking near the math and science building Tuesday when Michael's hand apparently began to spasm.
Halpin's family says he underwent surgery about six weeks ago for a broken hand but he had no known pre-existing medical condition and had always been healthy.
Grief counselors are on campus today to help students deal with Halpin's sudden death.
