San Francisco unveils bike share program

SAN FRANCISCO

'Shop and Roll,' San Francisco's first bike sharing program was unveiled Thursday in North Beach.

For as little as $25 a month clients can borrow a tricycle with a cargo basket that can carry at least six bags of groceries.

Mayor Newsom says it's just the tip of the iceberg.

"All of us will experience a dramatic investment in a very short period of time in expanding and arguably doubling the bike network in our city dramatically expanding through projects large and small our bicycle capacity and footprint in the city," Newsom said.

If you sign up for the program before Christmas Day, it is free.
