Ribbon-cutting for new recreation field

SAN JOSE, CA

There was a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning on the baseball diamond at O.B. Whaley Elementary School.

The four-acre school field also has pedestrian walkways, play areas for children and bleachers.

Community organizations and the school district raised $925,000 for the improvement project.

Students will use the field during regular school hours. The public will come in on the weekends and after school.
