San Jose firefighters are trying to control a single-alarm fire that destroyed a home in the city Saturday morning.

The blaze was reported at about 5:15 a.m. at 2438 Sleepy Hollow Ln., according to a fire dispatcher.

The fire "pretty much demolished the house", according to the dispatcher, who said the blaze has been controlled but not yet contained.

A dog died in the fire, which displaced one person from the home, the dispatcher said.
