Concord offers emergency response classes

The city of Concord and the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District are offering Concord residents free disaster and emergency response classes.

The classes will be taught by emergency personnel and include a total of six sessions that will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 27 through Feb. 24.

Participants will be taught basic fire safety, disaster preparedness and terrorism, disaster medical operations assessment, light search and rescue, disaster psychology and how to organize a community emergency response team.
