UC Santa Cruz police are investigating what they're calling a case of extensive vandalism.

The vandals hit early Wednesday morning. Tires were slashed and the windows of up to 20 university vehicles were broken.

There was also graffiti in some residence halls expressing opposition to prisons, law enforcement, and campus growth.

A spike strip was left across the road that leads to the home of the school's chancellor.

There were no injuries. The school is on winter break.
