The burglary was reported at about 4:50 a.m. at a home in the 600 block of S. 33rd Street, according to police Lt. Mike Gormley.
A suspect allegedly entered the home and stole a purse off a table and was apparently trying to take the victim's truck as well. However, the victim woke up and chased away the suspect, who fled on foot, Gormley said.
No arrests have been made and no injuries were reported.
