Officer Bryan Tuvera was shot to death while chasing an escaped felon in the Sunset District.
The escapee, Marlon Ruff, killed himself before police could catch him.
There will be a ceremony Tuesday to unveil a plaque honoring Tuvera and dedicating the Taraval Police Station Community Room in his name.
