The shooting was reported at about 2:30 a.m. by someone who found the victim inside a vehicle on Cutting Boulevard near Stege Avenue, according to police Sgt. Louie Tirona.
Arriving officers found the victim, the sole occupant of a white sport utility vehicle. he was transported to a local hospital where he is in serious condition but is expected to survive, Tirona said.
The vehicle was struck multiple times by gunshots, according to Tirona, who said no arrests have been made and no suspect information is immediately available.
