A financial hedge fund manager was arrested at San Francisco International Airport on Monday for allegedly defrauding his clients out of millions of dollars, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced Wednesday.

Alexander James Trabulse was arrested at the airport after arriving on a flight from France, customs and border protection officials said.

Trabulse had been wanted by the FBI for suspicion of defrauding his clients out of possibly $10 million, according to customs and border protection officials. The exact amount Trabulse allegedly defrauded has not been determined.

Once Trabulse's identity was confirmed, he was turned over to FBI agents.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection teams up with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure fugitives are intercepted and processed at the border.

In its 2008 fiscal year, the customs and border protection reportedly arrested more than 25,000 suspected criminals at ports of entry across the nation.
