Redwood crushes truck in Oakland Hills

OAKLAND, CA

It happened in the Oakland Hills, off Skyline Boulevard between Redwood Regional Park and Joaquin Miller Park.

A driveway bridge between two homes in the area was damaged, power lines were knocked down and a pickup truck was crushed. The neighborhood had a rude awakening at about 4:30 a.m..

"The wind blew really hard and all of a sudden it felt like a five-point earthquake. So I went outside and apparently a tree blew over all the way across to my house and broke the truck and the bridge there and there," said Adryan McBride, resident.

The Oakland Public Works Department removed the tree. Fortunately, no one was injured.
