Fifty Bay Area families will get safe cribs thanks to an organization called Keeping Babies Safe and KB Homes.

The two organizations donated the cribs to Oakland Children's Hospital Thursday.

The hospital will distribute the cribs to families who might not otherwise be able to afford a crib.

The director of Keeping Babies Safe says cribs are one of the few places where babies are left unattended, and it's every parent and caregiver's right to know that their child is safe.
