Man pays for message against cell phone law

A Pleasanton man has paid $10,000 to air his grievance against California's ban on using cell phones while driving.

Grant Paulson rented a billboard off Highway 101 in East Palo Alto to criticize State Senator Joe Simitian, sponsor of the Hands Free Bill.

According to our media partner, The San Jose Mercury News, Paulson sees the law as an assault on personal freedoms.

However, many motorists complain the billboard itself is distracting.
