Workers are installing solar panels that will cover the top level of VMC's parking garages.

The hospital hired Sunpower of San Jose to complete the project; the company has grown considerably in recent years.

"The growth in solar has been spectacular, and we think there's a lot in the stimulus package for both homeowners, commercial buildings, and especially for government buildings that will be good for the environment and good for business," Sunpower spokesperson Stephen Wright said.

The panels being installed above the garage move with the direction of the sunlight during the day, creating 25 percent more electricity than solar panels that never move.
