I-880 off-ramp open after crash

OAKLAND, CA

The crash was reported at 7:47 a.m. on the West Grand Avenue off-ramp from southbound I-880.

Peter Van Eckhardt said the crash left part of the truck's trailer straddling the barrier on the right side of the off-ramp. The big-rig had been carrying rice, which spilled onto the roadway, Van Eckhardt said.

CHP Officer Sam Morgan said the driver was transported to Oakland's Highland Hospital but said he didn't know the extent of the injuries.

The off-ramp was reopened at 12:15 p.m.
