SANTA ROSA, CA --
Santa Rosa police said a 24-year-old driver in a Mitsubishi struck a man in a wheelchair this morning at Range Avenue and Guerneville Road but returned to where the accident happened with his father. SIGN-UP: Get breaking news sent to you
Sgt. Lisa Banayat said the man was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse when the accident occurred around 6 a.m. Police found the car's license plate at the scene and located and towed the vehicle.
The man in the wheelchair suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. A truck driver found the man in the road, Banayat said.
